Sewing Club: Week 1

Last night saw the official start of our new sewing club! It was a slow start with only a few people able to come along sadly, but we had lots of fun!

We met Katy, a beginner at sewing who hadn't really used a machine much before but wanted to have a go at making something with one. After a little discussion, she settled on having a go at a simple envelope cushion project using our lovely blue owls fabric!

Although initially a little unsure about what to do, she took to the project like a duck to water, and with a little guidance managed to master the machine and pattern cutting! One happy woman went home with a cushion for her daughter (or her sofa, she couldn't resist...)

For anybody who is interested in coming along, our next session will be next week, on Tuesday 11th November, from 7.30 - 9.30pm in Southbourne. Drop us an email for more details!

The session is a social event where like-minded people can get together to sew and support one another in their projects, whilst having a chat and a cup of tea! Each session costs just £6.50 and materials & haberdashery are available to purchase on the night, if you should need them.

Feel free to bring along a project you are working on or want to start, or come along with an open mind as the theme for next week is Christmas projects - we have a couple for you to have a go at if you're lacking in inspiration.
